Welcome to Flemington Child Care Co-operative

Trusted by local families since 1982

Flemington Child Care Co-op, founded in 1982 by local families, is a child-safe, not-for-profit early learning centre. Our small, nurturing environment features an immersive learning program led by highly qualified educators and teachers who are passionate about helping each child shine. We offer long day care for ages 6 months to 5 years, including an integrated 3 and 4 years old funded kinder program. Join us in fostering a love for learning and celebrating every child's unique potential.

We currently have places available for 2024 - enrol today!

Our centre has a capacity of 37 children/day. Our programs are designed to respond to each child’s interests, strengths and needs. We work hard to create a fun, inclusive and nurturing space where every child can develop to reach their full potential.

Your child’s home away from home

We have four Early Childhood Teachers and seven permanent Early Childhood Educators at the Co-op. Drawing on progressive learning frameworks and teaching practices, our teachers and educators design rich, child-led learning programs. We take pride in our dedication, recently earning an Exceeding rating in Quality Area 5 - Relationships with Children during the ACECQA National Quality Standards review for the outstanding teaching and care we provide.

Learning through fun and real experiences

Facilities designed for interaction & creativity

Our centre is a converted cottage located on beautiful, tree-lined Wellington St, Flemington. We have two large outdoor play spaces for nature play and discovery. The inside rooms are all open and grouped around themes (literacy, STEM, creativity, sustainability, community, wellbeing), to inspire open-ended child-led play and interaction across all ages.

“Co-op’s small scale and calm, homely feel was key in selecting a daycare and kinder programme for our children. Both our kids love going each day and they absolutely thrive there. The educators are second to none, their programmes diverse and it always feels calm and the kids feel a sense of belonging.”

Elissa, Co-op parent

“My daughter loves attending Co-op. It is her home away from home. We chose co-op for its home like feel, how happy the children were, and the level of care provided by the Educators.

We were especially attracted to the combined age group room. My daughter loves playing with kids older and younger than herself, which means she doesn't have to “adjust” every time she changes rooms.
